ILDescription:Position Summary:
- Reporting to Pastor, the Director of Lifelong Formation
develops and implements plan for religious education of children,
adolescents and adults according to the Parish vision and
mission.
- Work with Parish Ministry Leaders to evangelize and educate
parish community.
- Direct planning, administration and recordkeeping of parish
catechetical program.
- Provide orientation and support and on-going education of
Catechists.
- Participate in recruitment and evaluation of Catechists as
required.
- Act in accordance of Archdiocesan policies, procedures and
guidelines.Responsibilities:
- Energize faith community through structured religious education
(RE) program for kindergarten through 8th grade.
- Develop and implement young adult faith-based activities
commensurate with their generational perspective.
- Provide a welcoming attitude to all who seek to learn about
Christ and the Catholic faith.
- Utilize enriching materials and encounters with the broader
community to strengthen their faith.
- Provide formation and education of catechists leading to
archdiocesan certification.
- Oversee and support Catechists.
- Plan parent faith formation sessions for families with students
receiving sacraments including session planning and recruiting
participants (volunteers / facilitators, parishioners, school and
RE families).
- Aid in recruiting new students through active marketing
including but not limited to bulletin articles, Mass announcements
and social media.
- Follow-up with previous students and families who have
expressed interest but not yet registered.
- Utilize existing parish records such as baptismal record and
parishioner registrations for continuous marketing and
communication efforts.
- Communicate monthly with RE parents and parish regarding RE
program.
- Aid in planning sacramental liturgies with Pastor, Principal,
Liturgical Committee and Music Director.Requirements:
- BS or BA in Religious Studies, Theology, Pastoral Studies or
other related field relevant to position or commensurate
experience.
- Minimum of 3 years teaching or coordinating faith formation
programs.
- Archdiocesan Catechist Certification.
- Excellent organizational and time management competencies.
- Strong verbal and written communications, organizational,
multi-tasking and interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual - English and Spanish, speaking, reading and
writing.(Preferred):
- Ability to work in team environment and has a "Service Mindset"
when working with others.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft and database products.
- Commitment to Gospel values and teachings of the Catholic
Church.
- Enthusiastic support of parish's Catholic educational
mission.
- Available to work evenings and weekends, when necessary.Special
