We're looking for a kick-ass Director of Strategy and Research, someone to lead all major strategy assignments for clients, and manage a team of talented and motivated people within and outside the agency. You'd be responsible for managing C-Level clients, for employee development, and for continuing to strengthen and evolve our culture. We'd look to you to uphold, on your accounts, the quality of service and strategic leadership this agency is known for. And we'd lean on you to execute the agency's ambitious vision and goals. • Reports to: President and Chief Strategy Officer
• Leads strategy relationships with all clients.
• Develops strong positioning, messaging, brand architecture and identity strategies.
• Works with Account Directors and the Creative Director to ensure the agency's work delivers powerfully against the strategic objectives.
• Fosters effective and productive internal team dynamics.
• Mentors team and ensures staff development.
• Oversees daily workflow.
• Anticipates and advises on potential client issues.
• Understands and responds to client's big picture needs.
• Responsible for the accounts' organic growth.
• Sources internal and external talent for research projects.
• Responsible business planning and growth of both Strategy and Research Departments.
• Participates in Agency new business pitches as needed.Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years industry experience and at least 2 years in Strategy or Research speciality.
  • Evidence of strategic leadership as well as operational skill.
  • Able to navigate matrix organizations without losing sight of what success looks like.
  • Proven track record of excellent job performance.
  • Experience in technology or B2B is a plus but not a prerequisite.
  • Enthusiastic and hardworking.Accountability
    • This person will be accountable for growing the business.
    • Developing new products or processes in both research and strategy.
    • Maintaining a strong agency report card from the client.
    • Developing a happy and productive team.
    • Predictable revenue growth in both Strategy and Research.
    • THIS IS A PREDOMINATELY A "WORK FROM THE OFFICE" JOB. While we currently offer "Work from Home Wednesdays", this job requires that you work in the Chicago, Nashville or San Francisco office Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
