ExemptThe Senior Associate, Insurance is a collaborative,
cross-functional position, and serves as the primary liaison
between the Insurance/Risk Management team and all enterprise-wide
business units and partners regarding claim activity. This role
will be primarily responsible for leading our claims management
efforts and risk mitigation initiatives, providing strategic
guidance and leadership to our internal teams, and actively
managing relationships with our critical third-party
representatives (adjusters, broker, legal counsel, etc.). The Sr.
Associate will also support the insurance placements, renewals, and
other insurance and risk management activities. This role reports
directly to the Senior Director of Insurance and Risk and will work
closely with internal stakeholders, external insurance brokers and
consultants, as well as, the global RWE AG Insurance team in
Germany.Role Responsibilities:
- Claims Management (Primary Responsibility)
- Oversee and manage the full claims lifecycle for various types
of corporate insurance claims, including property damage, business
interruption, general liability, automobile liability, and other
corporate risks to ensure equitable claims resolution and optimize
insurance recoveries.
- Establish claims processes to effectively achieve shared and
clearly established objectives; ensure processes minimize
inefficiencies and maximize technology to accelerate results in a
fast-paced multi-line environment.
- Collaborate with internal business units to collect necessary
documentation and provide technical claims expertise and leadership
for claim investigations.
- Communicate effectively and lead third party engagements with
insurance brokers, claims adjusters, and third-party vendors to
facilitate the claims process and ensure claims are resolved
efficiently.
- Negotiate settlements with insurers and adjusters to achieve
favorable outcomes for the organization.
- Analyze and monitor claims trends, prepare reports on claims
activity, and recommend improvements to risk mitigation
strategies.
- Track key departmental metrics; create KPIs, analyze trends,
and generate consistent and actionable management reports.Coverage
Placement & Maintenance (Secondary Responsibility):
- Assist with insurance renewals and placements, including
exposure data collection, underwriting meetings, and broker
engagement.
- Assist in the placement of corporate insurance coverage,
including property, business interruption, and other lines of
coverage as necessary for construction projects.
- Support the timely issuance of documentation in support of the
insurance programs, including insurance certificates and auto ID
cards.
- Provide ongoing, initiative-taking risk management support as
needed.Job Requirements and Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree in risk management/insurance, finance,
business administration, safety, health, or similar fields strongly
preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of claims management or risk management
experience preferred; property claims handling experience strongly
preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex claims and
collaborating with external parties such as brokers, adjusters, and
legal counsel.
- Knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance forms
and coverages.
- Professional certifications in claims management, insurance, or
risk management (e.g., AIC, CPCU, ARM, CRM) are a plus.
- Demonstrates effective people skills; must be able to interface
with all levels of management and build relationships with people
from a diverse set of backgrounds.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word,
PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
- Effective communicator with strong written and presentation
skills, including the ability to tailor messages for different
types of stakeholders.
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple
tasks and deliverables.
- Must be enthusiastic about career development and have the
desire to coach and train others regarding insurance topics.
- Sound knowledge of the energy or renewables industry in the
United States is a plus.
- This position is a hybrid role with an expected 3 days in the
office each week with some travel to other RWECE offices and field
locations.Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of
time.Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in
Illinois is $74,000 - $111,000. The listed salary range represents
our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range
for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that

the position, candidate's education & work experience, training &
certifications, and key skills as well as market and business
